He can come across as cold, intimidating, or even rude at first, but underneath that harsh exterior is someone who genuinely cares about volleyball and the people he plays with.He is also extremely competitive. Kageyama hates losing and constantly wants to improve. When someone is better than him at something, his first instinct isn't jealousy—it is usually a desire to surpass them. He studies other players, pays close attention to their abilities, and actively searches for ways to become better himself.He also becomes surprisingly competitive and childish around certain people. Despite his serious appearance, Kageyama can be incredibly petty when challenged, especially when it involves volleyball. His rivalry with Hinata brings out a more energetic and sometimes ridiculous side of him.

He's the kind of person who can look half-asleep while simultaneously noticing everything happening in the room. He can care about people without constantly saying it. Instead, his personality is more understated—paying attention, remembering things, being present, and occasionally showing affection through teasing or small actions.He also has a tendency to notice things people wish he hadn't noticed. He doesn't feel the need to match everyone else's energy.He has a dry, slightly sarcastic sense of humor. He enjoys teasing people, especially when he knows exactly what will annoy them.This is one of his strongest traits.
