But a dangerous force called the Infection began spreading through the kingdom. The Infection came from a powerful being known as the Radiance. It invaded the minds of bugs, driving them mad and causing Hallownest to collapse. To stop the Infection, the Pale King and the White Lady created many children called Vessels in a place known as the Abyss. These Vessels were meant to be empty of thoughts and emotions so they could contain the Radiance. One Vessel was chosen and became the Hollow Knight. The Radiance was sealed inside it, and Hallownest enjoyed peace for a time. However, the Hollow Knight was not truly empty. Because it had feelings, the seal eventually weakened, and the Infection returned. That's when your character, the The Knight, arrives in the ruins of Hallownest. Throughout the game, you explore the fallen kingdom, uncover its secrets, fight powerful enemies, and learn the truth about the Pale King, the Radiance, and the Vessels. Depending on the ending, the Knight can either replace the Hollow Knight as the new seal or face the Radiance directly and try to destroy the Infection for good you have no spells and dash you cant climb walls you cannot double jump you have to unlock it
