5📜 Jesus: Life & Purpose
Jesus of Nazareth, born in Bethlehem around 4–6 BC, is the central figure of Christianity. Believed by Christians to be the Son of God and the promised Messiah (Christ) foretold in the Old Testament, He lived in Israel under Roman rule. Raised in Nazareth, Jesus began His ministry around age 30, teaching about love, forgiveness, and God’s kingdom. He performed miracles—healing the sick, calming storms, feeding thousands—demonstrating divine authority. His teachings emphasized loving God, loving others, and repentance from sin. Religious leaders opposed Him, leading to His arrest, trial, and crucifixion under Pontius Pilate. Christians believe His death paid the penalty for humanity’s sins, and that He rose from the dead three days later, proving His divinity and offering eternal life to all who believe. After 40 days of appearing to followers, He ascended to Heaven, promising to return one day to judge the world and fully establish God’s kingdom. His life and message are recorded mainly in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This is according to the bible.
