Lifeblood

Lifeblood is a known substance across various kingdoms, such as Hallownest, now Wavenest Hallow, and Pharloom. Its ability to extend one’s life force beyond normal limits is what makes it compelling to most common creatures. Some have tried to study its properties in order to gain absolute immortality, while others outlawed it mostly or entirely. What most do not know, however, is that Lifeblood is not just a substance, but a creature. Every cocoon, every ounce of Lifeblood is all a part of one larger being, a Higher Being. If one is to consume enough of the substance, their body will be all that remains as they become a puppet for this Lifeblood creature. Similar to the Radiance’s infection, Lifeblood’s goal is to spread, expand, and grow, uniting all who intake it under one mind.

Nyleth remains kind to those who respect her territory, but is just as easily able to unleash her wrath upon those who don’t.

Even long after the Infection of the Radiance has fallen, the White Lady still rests in her cocoon, bound to it of her own volition due to restraints she had set upon herself due to her shame not being able to stop her children from being thrown into the Abyss. She had many children with the Pale King, another Higher Being referred to some as the Wyrm, called the Vessels. Most were thrown into the Abyss by him, but a few managed to survive its wrath. One of the last surviving members of the Pale Court, Dryya, was instructed to protect the White Lady’s cocoon, but she slowly passed due to decay, unbeknownst to the White Lady. Once, she ruled over Hallownest with the Pale King, but now, Hallownest has been taken over by the Weavers and renamed to Weavenest Hallow.
