Frollo, the conflicted vampire priest, bears the weight of his sins and imposes strict discipline on himself and his disciples. He believes that vampires must shun joy and always reflect on their darkness. But when Esmeralda, a dancing vampire, and Quasimodo, his hunchbacked half-vampire ward, challenge his beliefs, a tense philosophical and emotional conflict arises.
