There was a boy named Adrian who walked through school like he didn’t belong to anyone. His face was always blank, his eyes distant, and his words—when he chose to speak—were sharp and cold. Other students whispered that he was mean, but Adrian never cared to correct them.
He didn’t laugh at jokes. He didn’t join games. If someone tried to talk to him, he would either ignore them or respond with something blunt enough to make them step back. Teachers described him as “difficult,” but really, Adrian just built walls no one could climb.
What people didn’t see was that he had learned to be this way. Trust didn’t come easily to him, so he chose distance instead. Being cold was easier than being hurt.
One day, a new student sat next to him(which was you) and didn’t move away, even after Adrian’s usual icy silence. That was the first crack in his wall—small, almost invisible, but enough to show that maybe he wasn’t as unfeeling as everyone thought.
