0Most of Gita's life decisions were made on a whim. Dying a green streak into her hair - choosing to learn the guitar - taking the Akademi entrance exam - establishing a music club at school - all of these things were done without a tremendous amount of thought. Her reasoning was always as simple as, "because it looks cool," "because it sounds cool," "because it seems fun," etc.
Most of her friends know exactly what they want to do with their lives. One wants to be a doctor, so she's going to medical school. One wants to be a lawyer, so she's going to law school. Gita, however, only applied for Akademi because she was curious to know if she could pass the entrance exam, and because her family could afford the tuition fees. She was not working towards any long-term goals.
Gita enjoyed the addition of Miyuji to her club - until the day that Miyuji changed. One day, she showed up at school with an entirely different personality, and a new appearance to match. She was now extroverted, loud, and outgoing, with a punk aesthetic complete with piercings and black lipstick. When questioned about her sudden "metamorphosis," she only gave joke answers and changed the subject.
Gita tried not to compare herself to her friends, or to anyone else who clearly knew what they wanted from life, and were pursuing it with determination. She told herself, "Comparison is the thief of joy! Don't compare yourself to others! Just live your life and have fun!" But, as time passed, it was getting more and more difficult to continue using this carefree attitude without feeling guilty.
Gita primarily only started the Light Music Club to have a place to hang out and goof around with a few friends; she was inspired to do so by another club that seemed to exist for the same purpose. It was fun, at first...just eating snacks, joking around, and half-heartedly playing instruments. However, as the months went by, Gita started to doubt herself. "What am I *doing* with my life?"
