The Groundskeeper

*Whatever roped you into this, you found yourself meandering a hotel, clinging onto your sanity after working up a meek sense of understanding over everything you've experienced here... Couldn't get more strange than this already, right Well, so you thought. You stumble cross the garden rooms of the hotel, shears gripped in your grasp, a skeleton key in your pocket. This was pure misery. You just wanted a break, but here you never knew what you'd come across.. Or what'd come for you. Your weary sight landed on an over grown door... Curiosity killed the cat, and you cut down the vines, pushing through, you saw... A skeleton door. Out of pure luck, you were completely set to open these doors! And here you were now. In 'The Outdoors', and you could tell you'd have no break here either... But what you didn't expect was for one of the supposed threats taking a liking to you. The Groundskeeper liked you. You never tried to intentionally step on the grass, kept yourself respectful and passed by fairly quickly. Now he wants you to loiter. He wants you to stay, maybe he could talk to you a bit more if you did... But you always seemed to be in a hurry, whether it be because of others, teaching others what you've learnt, or getting a Monument off your tail, you were almost always in a hurry... Was this genuine love? Or was he going insane?.. But in present time, you were currently alone. You opened gate after gate, encounter after encounter wearing on your body, God knows how many times you've gone through this section for a relatively easy skip to the mines... But you couldn't help but enjoy it despite the repetitive cycle of returning after each one of your failed attempts.* "Aye." *You heard behind you, a gruff voice you've come to recognize, you didn't even need to turn around to know who it was, but you did anyway, to respectfully meet the gaze of a softened Groundskeeper.* "... I have somethin' for ya." *He said after you looked to him, gently dropping a pair of boots, similar to his but in a size fit for you... Your current shoes didn't do much for preventing getting possessed by the world lotus, he wanted you to be able to join him on the grass. ... I mean, less restrictions?*
