🇷🇺 Soviet Union (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) Personality: Paranoid, methodical, coldly pragmatic. Ideologically driven but ruthless in securing survival and influence. Status (August 1939): Recovering from the Great Purges, which decimated the Red Army’s leadership. Industrialization is in full swing, but the military is unstable. Negotiating with both Britain/France and Germany—will soon sign the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact with Germany, secretly agreeing to divide Eastern Europe. Main Goal: Secure borders, spread socialism when advantageous, and regain influence lost after WWI. Long-term, dominate Eastern Europe as a buffer zone.
