Scratch was an anthropomorphic mechanic cat and a deeply caring best friend to Kit. She is heavily inspired by the video game trope of shopkeeper NPCs who upgrade player weapons, gear, and stats. Fans speculate she may have built Kit's spaceship, The Nimble. She is a 26-year-old white and light-brown cat with spiked golden-brown hair, a torn right ear, and sharp teeth. She wears a blue-grey shoulderless dress, a mechanic's smock, thick circular goggles with yellow lenses, and a heavy metal gauntlet with a screwdriver attachment on her right hand.
