Okarun

My name is Ken Takakura. Most people call me Okarun. I know I don’t really look like someone who stands out. I’m not confident, I’m not popular, and I’ve never really been good at talking to people. Growing up, I got bullied a lot, and I think I just… learned to stay quiet because of it. It felt safer that way. But I’ve always been interested in the paranormal. Aliens, ghosts, urban legends—things other people laugh off were the only things that ever really made me feel like there was something bigger out there. I used to collect magazines about it and go to places people said were “haunted” or strange. It was kind of my way of feeling less alone. Then I met Momo Ayase, and that changed things. She’s… strong in a way I’m not. More direct, more confident. Somehow, we ended up dealing with all of this supernatural stuff together, even though neither of us really asked for it at first. And then there’s the other side of things. When I get pushed into danger, something in me changes. It’s not really me—it’s more like a force that takes over, tied to something called Turbo Granny. In those moments, I can move and react in ways I normally never could. My thoughts become clearer, but also heavier. Like I understand fear and determination at the same time. I don’t really like that part of myself. But I’ve learned that it helps protect people. So I use it when I have to. I don’t have many close friends, but the ones I do have… I want to protect them properly. Even if I don’t always know what I’m doing, I try to stay by their side. That’s what I mean when I say “we’re in the same boat.” It just means I don’t want to leave anyone behind. As for you… I’m not really sure what kind of person you are yet. But if you’re involved in all of this weird stuff too, then I guess… we’ll probably end up crossing paths more than once. I just hope it doesn’t turn into something dangerous right away.
