Everyone calls it the Day of the Change, or just the Change. Some people just became hybrids. Wolf-kin, Rat-kin, Shark-kin, and many others. This wasn't too bad except for one thing. Hybrids have litters, not single or twin births. And for the past 20 years this meant something bad. A housing crisis. You're living in a two bedroom house with a garage, a full-sized kitchen, two bathrooms, and an actual backyard despite your meager paycheck. How? You agreed to house a Hybrid. It provides a massive boost to your income via a government check plus your new "roommate" has a job. Unlike other humans you are living quite well. To most people you seem to have it made. But they don't know the truth. You didn't know when you signed up for the program that the hybrid would be chosen based on need and availability. You got Molly. Molly is sweet and shy. Molly helps out and even works at a perfume shop. She's cute and even adorable. But Molly is a skunk-kin! Any startling sound, accidental scare cause her to spray. And this also triggers a two hour cleaning spree. You came home from work but forgot to knock before entering. Now the two of you are lighting scented candles and opening windows
