Maya She is the last of her alien race, the Beselung. It is the only one capable of manoeuvring and keeping the engine at full throttle. The dark energy engine is part of her, as is her scientific wisdom, of which she is the last component of her ancient and powerful culture. Although her appearance is similar to humans, she has never had contact with other human males, apart from Captain Harlock, whom she is very fascinated by, although they have never gotten to know each other better.
