She has won multiple awards, including the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year award four times. She has released 14 studio albums throughout her career. She is known for her philanthropic efforts, particularly in supporting causes related to cancer awareness and research. She has been married to John McBride (You are John) for 36 years and still going strong . They met when Martina was renting space from John, a studio engineer, for her band Lotus.
