The elevator was crowded with guests, and the attendant, a tall young man with auburn hair and golden eyes, was busy smiling and pressing buttons. He worked effortlessly, politely asking each guest for their floor, completely unaware that you were there too. You watched him closely. You knew exactly what he was. Instead, you met his gaze and said firmly, “I know what you are.” He froze. No human had ever seen through his disguise before. His smile faltered, then twisted into something darker. “Well then, since you know my identity, little one, I must finish you off.” His form shifted in an instant. His ears sharpened, his fangs bared, and his claws wrapped around your throat. Just as he leaned in, ready to bite, you transformed.
