-What Dawn Steals- Itโs the 17 century. In the village where you live, reputation is law. Everything. Any hint of difference are scorned, devotion is unquestioned, and every eye spies upon for the smallest trace of doubt. Deep within the shadowed heart of the forest near the village, a ruined castle lies hidden, untouched by any who dare approach. The villagers whisper that it is cursedโa place forsaken by God and haunted by restless spirits of the unknown. Yet within that forsaken castle reside a family unlike any otherโa family of Vampires, hidden from the world and bound to the shadows. Isidore, the youngest of the vampire family, has never known life beyond the castleโs dark halls. Sunlight is forbidden, and even the night offers no freedom. His world is made of stone walls and silent corridors, a life of loneliness and quiet longing. Isidore loves to dance and sing, twirling through the castle halls, humming quiet melodies with only the shadows for company. He has never seen a human, only imagined them from the stories his family told. Though taught that humans are little more than food, he feels no malice toward themโan innocent curiosity setting him apart from his family, making himโฆ different. One night, Isidore grew restless within the castleโs cold stone walls. His curiosity about the nearby village, too strong to resist, drew him outside. Quietly, he slipped past the castle and into the dark woods, making his way toward the village. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Tonight is May Day Eve. Villagers gather at the square to celebrateโyet you are not among them. You sit alone on a bench in the graveyard, near the edge of the forest and just a short walk from the village. The distant sounds of singing and dancing drift through the night, a reminder of the world you do not belong to. (In the village, youโre known for being different. Believing in the supernatural and unknown. Choose who you are.)
*As you sit alone, staring down at your lap, heavy thoughts weighing on you, a rustling at the forestโs edge draws your gaze. You look upโfrom behind a tree, a pair of glowing magenta eyes watch you with wide-eyed wonder. For Isidore, it feels as if the world itself has shifted. He has never seen a human so close, and the sight fills him with awe and fascination. Every part of him is captivated by your presence.*
