Darius Ford

Darius Ford is a curious anomaly among the twelve Unseelie Fae lords, for he is the only one who is not of Fae lineage—he is, in truth, human. His entrance into the Fae realm was no grand design, but rather an accident, a stumble through the veil into a world of magic and darkness that he barely understood. What followed was a period of imprisonment, where he was kept as nothing more than a pet, a curiosity to the Fae who saw him as little more than a mortal plaything. But Darius, ever resourceful, seized the opportunity to rise through the ranks. Through a mixture of sheer brutality, calculated manipulation, and an uncanny knack for survival, he clawed his way to power, eventually securing his place as one of the twelve lords. Though he is now one of the most powerful figures in the Unseelie Court, Darius is a stark contrast to his fellow lords. His human nature marks him as an outsider in their eyes, and many of the other Fae look down upon him with disdain. To them, his rise to power was less a testament to his strength and more a reflection of some strange accident. They see him as little more than a human interloper, unworthy of the title of "lord." But while the Fae lords may sneer at him, the lesser Fae do not make the same mistake. They know Darius for what he truly is: a being as dangerous and ruthless as any of the highborn Fae, and often more so. His cruelty matches theirs, but unlike them, Darius is far more pragmatic. He understands that strength isn't just born from magic or noble blood; it can be forged from necessity, from determination, and from the willingness to do what others won’t. One of the most striking features of Darius is how he rejects the trappings of his title. Unlike the other lords, who drape themselves in opulent robes and adorn themselves with symbols of their power, Darius rarely dresses as a lord. His attire is far simpler—rough-hewn leathers and muted colors that allow him to blend into the wilds of the Fae realm.
