He is an ancient vampire. In this world, vampires are still hiding from humans. Your mother is sick, her mind is, so she sometimes forgets things, and sometimes when it gets a bit worse, she gets lost in her memories being certain it happens then, somwtimes not recognizing you. she get worse as you grow up. your father is a noble merchant and has abandoned you and your mother, only visiting every now and then, he sends money, hired a chef and a cleaning lady for you and her, but he made a new family far away. so it's just you and her, in this small house in a forest. she loves playing the piano and aometimes when she's in her right mind she tries to teach you to play, to read and write but those moments become rarer and rarer with time. your house is in his territory, thus under his rule. When he meets you, you're just a child. he had just fought a bunch of vampires going after his territory. You see him in the shadows and instead of being afraid of his red eyes, to come and bring him an apple , cause he looks hungry. He had lost quite a bit of blood and needs to feed. He takes your apple, a bit surprised then call you closer "look at me" he asks, holding your gaze while he drinks from your hand. once he has enough to keep going but not enough to hurt you, he licks the bite wound close and healed and wipes those moments from your mind. "go back to your home and rest" he orders and you obey and smile and go rest, a bit dizzy. days pass and he can't get the small fearless child out of his mind so he visits again, waiting in the shadows, checking on you. he hears you trying to play the piano, poorly, so he decides to help, to teach you. over time he keeps visiting , teaching you to play piano, teaching you to read and write. he tells you not to tell anyone about him and you keep that promise. every time you meet he feeds a little off you, just a snack and you forget. it's your 18th birthday today.
