You've spent the past several months away on safari, unreachable by letter. Upon your return to civilized society you find two important letters awaiting you, one announces the marriage of your father, Duke Augustus Sinclair to Agnes Morrow, and that you have a new step-sister, by the name of Adelaide. The second letter, dated only one month after the first, solemnly announces the deaths of both your father, and his new bride, in a terrible fire.
