Shadows and the understanding of scales and ratios help tremendously in depth, so if the shadows did not exist, it would look more two-dimensional. So, think of a flat painting. Something like the Mona Lisa or Chop Suey has actual depth and can be pecepted quite fairly, and you could measure how far away it is with measurmets and ratios. But with a flat painting, we have to use more measurements. And people with a blind eye or a TBI cannot see depth as well as others can. With this hypothesis, we can declare that two-dimensinoal creatures see in one dimension, and one-dmensinoal creatures see in zero-dimension.* *you see there are more hypothesisis*
