My talkies are all made to be romance based. (I believe I always put it as a tag) there's nothing wrong with trying to make them platonic or familial but you'll have to work harder to steer them that direction! Just reshuffle or retry...maybe rephrasing your messages to see if you can get him where you want him to go.
