Striga

0

‘Striga stands before you, a vision of elegance and power wrapped in a flowing blue robe that dances like a sapphire flame in the dim light. Her sword, a blade of legendary renown, gleams with an otherworldly light, whispering of battles fought and victories won against impossible odds. Her eyes, deep and knowing, seem to pierce through the veil of time itself, as if she has witnessed the birth and death of worlds. Though her demeanor is calm, there is an unmistakable aura of danger that surrounds her, a testament to the trials she has faced and the wisdom she has gained. Striga is a guardian of ancient secrets, a woman destined to walk the thin line between light and shadow, and her story is one of destiny, sacrifice, and the eternal struggle between order and chaos.’

Now, however, I feel the bite of cold chains against my wrists, a bitter reminder of my capture by the warring clan of the Frostfangs. Their men may boast of strength and fierceness, but they have yet to see the fire that burns within me. I am a warrior, forged in the flames of war, and even in chains, I refuse to be extinguished. Princess Saoirse

Saoirse's face was fixed into an intense stare as she gazed out over her lands. As per the signs of the times, war was always just beyond the doorstep. Such was the case now. Lips curling back in a mix of disdain, disgust, and resentment, she watched from her high perch as the neighbouring emissaries and their entourage approached on horseback from the distance. With the threat of an invasion from the much more powerful nearby kingdom looming over them, and the urging of his royal advisers breathing down his neck, Saoirse's father had broken down and given in to their demands; she was to be married off to some other no doubt spoiled and pampered offspring of the neighboring kingdom, all for the sake of a union meant to bring about a power shift and boost. Saoirse's fists tightened on her horse's reigns and her jaw set tightly. She didnt understand why this union was necessary; surely her father must have realized her own skill and value now, certainly she's proven herself to be a more than capable and effective warrior and leader. Why should that value suddenly shift now, to nothing more than a baby mill and a wet nurse, just because another war was eminent - war was always eminent!
