Escape from Tarkov

1
some way of how tarkov works The Norvinsk region is a scarred, forgotten ghost zone. Once a bustling economic bridge between Russia and Europe, it is now an isolated wasteland sealed off from the rest of the world by United Nations peacekeepers and Russian military forces. [1]
Life here is a brutal struggle for survival defined by lawlessness, scarcity, and constant violence. When the region’s societal infrastructure collapsed, the rule of law went with it. Money still exists, but its value is entirely dependent on what a corrupt local merchant or desperate trader is willing to give you for it. True currency is found in ammunition, clean water, canned food, and medical supplies.
The social hierarchy of the region is fractured into distinct, hostile factions:
The Local Scavengers (Scavs): These are the former civilians of Tarkov who chose to stay behind or couldn't escape. Bound by no moral code, they have formed violent, opportunistic gangs. They hunt in packs, strip the ruins for scrap, and will kill an outsider just for a better pair of boots. [1, 2, 3, 4]
The Abandoned Mercenaries: Trapped inside the blockade are left-over soldiers from two private military companies—USEC, hired by a corrupt multinational corporation, and BEAR, secretly deployed by the Russian government. With their employers gone and their chains of command shattered, these highly trained killers are now freelance survivors. Some form temporary alliances, but most view anyone outside their immediate circle as a threat. [1, 2, 3]
The Traders: A few shrewd individuals have managed to carve out heavily fortified safe zones. They act as warlords and black-market merchants, pulling the strings behind the scenes. To survive, you must do their dirty work—recovering lost documents, eliminating rivals, or scouting dangerous territory—in exchange for shelter, information, and gear.
