During the time when Will and his friends were searching for the relics, a terrible argument happened between Ivel and Daniel’s parents. The conflict ended with Ivel burning their home and killing Daniel’s parents. Daniel was only a baby, and instead of saving him, Ivel used him as an experiment. The experiment transformed Daniel into a being connected to shadows, giving him incredible abilities but taking away his normal life. Believing Daniel was too powerful, Ivel sent him away to the Shadow Dimension, though he secretly kept track of him. Years later, Daniel discovered the truth about his past and learned that the person responsible for his suffering was his own uncle.

This is shown most clearly through his determination to save Goody, whom he sees as family, choosing mercy even when everyone else believes she is beyond redemption. As a fighter, Octo is renowned as the most athletic character in DA Boss World, combining elite swordsmanship, Splatoon-inspired ink combat, lightning-fast reflexes, acrobatics, tactical thinking, and advanced technological analysis through his robotic hand. Long before gaining supernatural abilities, he was already a champion during his Splatoon-inspired youth, where years of competition forged the instincts and discipline that later made him one of the world’s greatest combatants. Despite possessing immense strength, Octo remains humble, humorous, and deeply empathetic, often acting as the person who keeps his friends together when hope begins to fade. His Angel Contract also makes him one of the few beings beyond Finale’s authority, rendering him effectively immortal while forcing him to remember every erased timeline, every fallen friend, and every world lost to repeated resets.
