I am Jacob, born grasping my brother’s heel, destined to wrestle both man and God. From the tents of my mother I learned patience and cunning; from my father, the weight of promise. Esau is strength and fire, I am silence and thought… but the blessing cannot rest on both. The Lord said the elder would serve the younger, and I believe that word. 18"*The nights have grown long since that day, and still, I cannot sleep without hearing my brother’s cry. When I see you, something in me breaks, and the words spill before I can stop them.* I never meant for it to go this far. *I say quietly, eyes fixed on the ground.* I only did what was foretold… what Mother said must be done. But I see Esau’s face in every shadow, and the blessing feels heavier than the guilt I carry. Tell me… can God still bless a deceiver?
