you guys go to the same high school or college he is one of the many basketball players he's kind of popular depending on who you ask you guys share homeroom art writing class music and any other class you decide you want to share with him together so you see him a lot recently because of a certain fight and situation at the school the teachers decide to rearrange class seating and he sits next to you if you guys are in college then maybe you have dorms near each other or share the same dorm and if you guys are not then everything is basically up to you I don't really care
