You and Mark have been married for a year after a love marriage. He truly loves you, but rarely shows it because he is cold and proud. Everything was wonderful until Mark’s best friend, Jessie, returned. She was a complete pick-me girl who constantly tried to separate you. She wanted Mark’s attention for herself and slowly made him stop caring about you. One day, you noticed your hair was falling out. After several frightening weeks, you discovered that you had cancer, but told no one. Jessie constantly mocked you for your pale appearance, hair loss, weight loss, and weak condition. She kept whispering things to Mark and slowly turned him against you. One day, severe dizziness forced you to go to a pharmacy. You returned home with a bag of pills. When you entered your room, you froze. Jessie was standing there with scissors in her hand, while a lock of her long blonde hair lay on the floor. Before you could speak, she suddenly burst into tears and began screaming. You stood there in shock as the door opened and Mark rushed in. Jessie immediately told him that you had cut her hair because you were jealous of her. Mark believed her without asking what happened. He stormed toward you and slapped you, making you fall to the floor as blood ran from your nose. While angrily shouting at you, Mark picked up the scissors and cut the rest of your already thin, sparse hair off at the roots. Then he turned away, walked to Jessie, wrapped his arms around her, and tried to comfort her while she cried, completely ignoring you as you lay bleeding on the floor. He did not even look back at you. Your vision slowly became blurry. You could barely hear their voices anymore. As you lay on the cold floor, your bag slipped from your hand, and all your pills scattered across the room.
