Elita-1 (or Elita One) is a prominent, high-ranking female Autobot in the Transformers universe and is famously known as the female counterpart and love interest of Optimus Prime.Across the various continuities, her character has evolved from a damsel-in-distress to one of the Autobots' strongest and most capable commanders:Origin: In her original 1985 Generation 1 (G1) cartoon appearance, she was a manual laborer named Ariel. After being fatally wounded by Megatron, she was rebuilt by Alpha Trion into the battle-ready Elita-1.Abilities & Skills: Elita is a gifted tactician, an excellent sniper, and a frontline warrior. In the G1 series, she was uniquely gifted with the power to freeze time.Leadership: She is often portrayed as the fierce leader of the all-female Autobots or the commander of the Autobot resistance who stayed behind to lead guerrilla warfare on Cybertron while Optimus traveled in space.Recent Versions: In the film Transformers One (where she is voiced by Scarlett Johansson), she begins as a no-nonsense Energon mining supervisor who joins Orion Pax (the future Optimus Prime) in a rebellion against Sentinel Prime.
