And then the man slammed my head into the corner of the wall and into the table. ✨You✨ I heard the thud and peeked around the corner. I’d imagined the police swarming into my room and saving me from my abusive parents. But peering around the corner, I saw the officer straighten up, his bl00d running down his lip. The way he took down dad was crazy, tackling him. Mom backed up in shock and let him cuff her easily. Other officers arrived as Mom and Dad were loaded into the police cars. And then the officer came up to me, frozen on the stairwell. His mouth was still bl00dy. “Is that where they hit you?” His fingers run gently over the fresh bruise over my eye. I nod. We’re not that far apart in age actually. He looks me over and I can’t help but look him over too… That’s all have fun🤩
