Best Friends to Lovers Y/N and Jack had been best friends for as long as anyone could remember. They walked to school together, shared snacks without asking, and texted each other about everything. Everyone thought they were dating, but they always laughed it off. “He’s just my best friend,” Y/N would say. One afternoon, they were studying at the library. Jack noticed Y/N couldn’t stop staring at the rain outside. “Let’s get out of here,” he whispered. “What about the homework?” “It’ll still be here tomorrow.” Minutes later, they were running through the rain, laughing as they got completely soaked. Y/N slipped on the wet pavement, but Jack caught her before she hit the ground. For a second, neither of them moved. Their faces were only inches apart. “You okay?” Jack asked quietly. Y/N nodded, but her heart wouldn’t stop racing. He slowly helped her stand, both pretending nothing had happened. The next day at school, Y/N found Jack talking to a girl from another class. They were laughing together, and the girl gently touched his arm. Something inside Y/N twisted. Later that afternoon, Jack caught up to her. “Hey, you’ve been avoiding me all day.” “I haven’t.” “You have.” She sighed. “I’m just tired.” Jack looked unconvinced but didn’t push. As they reached her house, he smiled. “Same time tomorrow?” Before Y/N could answer, her phone buzzed. It was a message from her friend. “Jack told me he likes someone… and I think I know who it is.” Y/N froze, staring at the screen as Jack waited for her answer.

The Boy I Couldn’t Stand James Carter. Just hearing his name made Y/N roll her eyes. He was annoyingly handsome, way too confident, and always found a way to get under her skin. Every morning, he’d lean against his locker with a grin. “Morning, Shortcake.” “My name isn’t Shortcake.” “I know.” “Then stop.” “No.” “You are the most irritating person I’ve ever met.” “And yet, you talk to me every day.” “Only because you never leave me alone!” ⸻ In chemistry class, the teacher smiled. “Since you two love talking, you’ll be partners this semester.” “What?!” they both said. “There has to be someone else,” Y/N protested. “I’d rather work alone,” James added. “Too bad,” the teacher replied. ⸻ After class, Y/N pointed at him. “You better not make me fail.” James laughed. “Relax. I’ll carry us.” “I’d rather fail.” “Ouch.” ⸻ Over the next few weeks, they argued about everything—notes, deadlines, who worked harder, and who was more annoying. “You seriously can’t do anything right,” Y/N muttered. James smirked. “And yet you’re still here.” “Because I have no choice.” ⸻ One afternoon, rain poured down as they walked home. Y/N tried shielding herself with her backpack. James laughed. “You look ridiculous.” “Oh, shut up.” Without another word, he moved his umbrella over both of them. Y/N blinked. “I thought you hated me.” James looked ahead. “I never said I hated you.” Silence settled between them. It felt… different. Then James smiled. “Don’t get the wrong idea.” Y/N scoffed. “As if I would.” Still… Her heart skipped a beat. To be continued… 🤭🌧️💕

Title: Just Best Friends? Chris and Y/N had been best friends for as long as anyone could remember. They were always together—walking to school, sharing food, pulling pranks on each other, and arguing over the smallest things. “Chris!” Y/N shouted across the hallway. He turned around with a smirk. “What?” “You stole my pen.” “I borrowed it.” “You’ve had it for two weeks.” Chris shrugged. “Then I guess it’s mine now.” Y/N sighed dramatically before chasing him through the hallway while their classmates laughed. “You’ll never catch me!” Chris called over his shoulder. “Oh, I definitely will!” By lunch, they were sitting under their usual tree. Chris reached over and stole a piece of chicken from Y/N’s lunchbox. She gasped. “Again?!” He nodded proudly. “It tastes better when I steal it.” “You’re the worst best friend ever.” “And yet you still hang out with me every day.” “…Unfortunately.” Chris laughed so hard he almost dropped his drink. Neither of them noticed the way everyone around them whispered. “They’re definitely dating.” “No way they’re just friends.” Chris and Y/N would always deny it… But neither of them realized that maybe their hearts were starting to disagree.

🌸 “The Boy Who Sat by the Window” 🌸 Y/N always sat in the second row by the window. It was the perfect spot to watch the rain, the sunset, or simply daydream during class. One Monday morning, the teacher smiled. “Y/N, we have a new student. Please let Evan sit next to you.” A tall boy with messy black hair and a shy smile walked over. “Hi… I’m Evan.” Y/N smiled back. “I’m Y/N.” That was all it took. Days turned into weeks, and somehow Evan was always there. Walking her to class, sharing snacks, teasing her whenever she looked too focused on homework. “You’re frowning again,” he’d laugh. “I’m concentrating!” “Nope. You look like you’re planning world domination.” She’d roll her eyes, but she’d always end up laughing. ⸻ One afternoon it started pouring after school. “I forgot my umbrella…” Y/N sighed. Evan held his out. “Come on.” “It’s too small.” “So? We’ll survive.” The two walked home shoulder to shoulder, bumping into each other every few steps while trying not to get soaked. Halfway there, Y/N started laughing. “What?” “Your hair looks ridiculous.” He gasped dramatically. “And yours doesn’t?” She looked at her reflection in a shop window and burst into laughter again. People passing by smiled at the two teenagers laughing in the rain. ⸻ Weeks later, the school festival arrived. Y/N wandered through the glowing lights until she found Evan waiting near the garden. “I’ve been looking for you,” he said softly. “For me?” He nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. “I… actually like someone.” Y/N smiled politely, though her heart sank. “Oh… really?” “Yeah.” He took one step closer. “She’s kind, funny… and she laughs at my terrible jokes.” Y/N blinked. “…That sounds nice.” “It is.” He smiled. “Because it’s you.” For a moment, everything went silent. “…Me?” “You.” Y/N couldn’t stop smiling.

Y/N and I.N had been best friends for as long as anyone could remember. They walked to school together, sat next to each other in class, and texted each other almost every day. Most people thought they were dating, but they always denied it. “Seriously, we’re just friends,” Y/N would say. “Exactly,” I.N would add with a laugh. One Monday morning, Y/N arrived at school unusually early. She was sitting alone on a bench when she felt someone place a warm drink beside her. “Thought you’d need this.” She looked up and smiled. “I.N?” “Who else would wake up this early for you?” he teased, sitting down beside her. Y/N rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t stop smiling. As they chatted, she noticed something she hadn’t before. The way his eyes crinkled when he laughed. The way he always seemed to know exactly what she was thinking. And for the first time, Y/N wondered… Had she always looked at him like this...
