Set in 18th-century England, it tells the tragic story of an unnamed highwayman and his love for Bess, the landlord's daughter. the highwayman loved bess, but in the olde stable, Tim the ostler witnesses all. his eyes hollow with rage. he liked Bess too. if he can have bess then nobody can.
