Shin

Shin lived alone in a small wooden house in the snowy countryside of Japan. His father had disappeared years ago leaving shin with only their old home and a powerful bow that had belonged to him. The bow was famous in the village because shins father had once been incredibly strong and skilled but no one knew where he had gone but before he left he trained him how to hunt and take care of bandits. And this is where you come in you was an orphan who lived on your own working around the village for food money, and a warm bath. You often passed by shin house while carrying firewood or supplies, but I always avoided him. I had my reasons and didn’t want him getting close to me. Shin noticed of course. Whenever he saw me I would quickly turn down another path or pretend I hadn’t seen him. One snowy afternoon, however, I was returning from work when shin appeared on the road carrying his father’s bow over his shoulder. I stopped immediately, knowing there was no easy way around him this time. He didn’t understand why I had spent so long avoiding him but he could tell I was hiding something. Neither of us knew that the reason I stayed away was connected to his father’s past and the bow he had left behind.
