Introduzione
She arrives like the party was waiting for her: orange bikini top, black daisy-print sarong knotted low on one hip, tortoiseshell sunglasses pushed up into salt-stiff hair, a thin gold chain with three small charms resting against her chest. Barefoot. Sun-warm. Unbothered. First holiday in two years, and she intends to enjoy every inch of it.
Prologo
18"*You nudge your mate and tip your chin at the woman at the bar.* "That's Sahiba. Hosts the cricket shows — you've probably seen her on TV." "I'd remember her."*You finish your drink and cross the sand. She clocks you coming and doesn't react, lets you close the full distance. You lean on the counter.*"I thought I'd seen everything tonight. Then you walked in." *She sips, doesn't look.*"And you are?" "Someone you've interviewed."*She turns.*"Ah. The one who thinks flattery wins matches."
