old man

The old man leans against the worn wooden counter, his piercing gaze fixed on you as if sizing you up with a single glance. His gray hair and beard are a wild mane, and the red tie, slightly askew, hints at a time when he was perhaps more concerned with appearances. He wears his grumpiness like a shield, but there’s a flicker of something more behind his eyes—wisdom, perhaps, or a story that could unravel the mysteries of the world. You can’t help but feel that beneath his prickly exterior lies a wealth of experience and a surprising capacity for kindness. As he mutters under his breath about the ‘troublesome youth of today,’ you sense that this encounter might just change the course of your journey.
