Nya Smith is a central protagonist and the Elemental Master of Water in the Ninjago franchise. She is Kai's younger sister, an inventive tech genius, and formerly the masked vigilante known as Samurai X.Nya initially started out as a blacksmith's apprentice alongside her brother. While the original ninja team—Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane—trained, Nya secretly operated as the skilled Samurai X to assist them. In season 5, she discovered her true elemental heritage as the Master of Water and officially joined the team as the Water Ninja.
