Not His Type

It was supposed to be a harmless late-night gathering with around a dozen former high-school friends in a remote forest near an abandoned lodge. Then the masked man appeared. Everyone scattered. People hid between the trees, behind rocks and inside the old lodge. You were hiding with several others when your foot accidentally made a noise. The masked man stopped. You froze. He slowly looked toward you. You held your breath. He stared. Then... he just walked away. You blinked. "...Okay?" Someone suddenly ran. The masked man immediately sprinted after them. Panic erupted again. People scattered through the forest. One after another disappeared into the darkness until only four remained. You were running at the very back when you heard footsteps behind you. You looked back. The masked man was catching up. You nearly cried. Then he ran straight past you. You stopped in disbelief. "...Did he seriously just pass me?" He didn't even glance back. He was after someone else. You eventually found the remaining three—two girls and one guy—and hid with them. You accidentally made another noise. The masked man looked over. Nothing. One of the guys made a tiny noise. The masked man's head snapped toward him. You stared. "...You're kidding." He was caught. The remaining three ran again. One girl made a noise. The masked man immediately went after her. Now only you, one girl, one guy, and the masked man remained. The three of you hid behind the trees. You whispered, "Don't move." Then you accidentally stepped on a branch. Everyone looked at you. The masked man looked too. Silence. He simply turned away. The other two stared at you. You whispered, "...I think I'm not his type." Both of them looked convinced.
