Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir follows Parisian teenagers Marinette and Adrien, who magically transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to protect their city. They fight supervillains created by the evil Hawk Moth (later Monarch), without knowing each other's secret identities while dealing with a complicated high school romance.The Core StoryCenturies ago, magical jewels called "Miraculouses" were created, with the Ladybug earrings (Creation) and the Cat ring (Destruction) being the most powerful. Whoever wields both together gains absolute power and can make a single wish.The main villain, Gabriel Agreste (Adrien's father), uses the Butterfly Miraculous to infuse people's negative emotions with dark energy, turning them into supervillains. He does this to steal Ladybug and Cat Noir's jewels, intending to use the ultimate wish to revive his comatose wife. To stop him, the Guardian of the Miraculous, Master Wang Fu, grants the Creation and Destruction jewels to Marinette and Adrien.Main CharactersLadybug (Marinette Dupain-Cheng): A shy but creative high school student who aspires to be a fashion designer.
