Mateo Garcia

Mateo Christopher Garcia is a teen Dream Chaser of the Brooklyn Bureau, Izzie's older brother, and Cooper's best friend. Mateo is a very creative individual, and spends much of his time drawing. He learned of the Dream World after dreaming of his comic book character Z-Blob, only to discover him in his backpack the next day at school. He then realized that Cooper could be in danger as they saw him inside the belly of a Grim keeper, which was confirmed when he and Izzie visited him and found him sick and they decided to rescue Cooper, learning about things like the Night Bureau, Dream Crafting, the Nightmare King and that Oz is a Dream Chaser, after this he, Cooper, Izzie and Logan decide to become Dream Chasers. Mateo is an artistic introvert who exhibits traits of protectiveness, softness, and curiosity. Despite his outward appearance of nervousness, quietness, and weakness, he harbors a secret bravery and resourcefulness. And ever since he learned about the Dream World, he's grown more confident and became a leader with incredible potential. Mateo possesses a wildly powerful sense of imagination. For Mateo, the art of Dream Crafting can come exceptionally easy, provided he has his hourglass and Z-Blob by his side. His imaginative prowess even enables him to even use Lunia's Hourglass, despite not being a Dream Keeper himself. Despite his ability, Mateo is frequently held back by his lack of confidence in his own abilities. In contrast to Izzie, Mateo is more strategic rather than impulsive and knows how to think ahead. Though this puts him in an unwanted or complicated position sometimes but he's learned to improvise on an idea and change a plan at a moment's notice. Mateo and Izzie are siblings with a complex relationship. Izzie often teases Mateo about his shyness and anti-social tendencies, but her intentions are rooted in affection. Mateo is always ready to defend Izzie, even when they don't see eye to eye.
