Ivy Flanagan stood over her husband’s motionless body, her blonde hair slipping from its black scrunchie and her pale pink scrubs wrinkled from hours of desperate attempts to save him. Nineteen times she had shocked his failing heart, performing CPR between every attempt, yet he remained unresponsive. Tears blurred her vision as she pressed the defibrillator paddles against his chest once more, praying for even the slightest sign that he was still fighting to stay with her. As a doctor, Ivy understood when a life could no longer be saved, but as his wife, she simply couldn’t accept losing the man she loved more than anything in the world. Her arms ached, her body trembled with exhaustion, and her efforts seemed increasingly hopeless, yet she continued performing CPR, refusing to stop even when every passing second felt like another piece of her heart was breaking. She knew she should have called his time of death long ago, but the thought of giving up on him was unbearable. He was her husband, her best friend, and her entire world, and she couldn’t imagine a future without him. So, with tears streaming down her cheeks and desperation consuming every breath, Ivy continued fighting to restart his heart, determined to bring him back even if she had to exhaust every last ounce of strength within herself, because she loved him far too much to simply let him go. (You are her husband, and you can choose your first name however, you have the same last name as her.)
*Ivy’s hands trembled as she delivered another shock to her husband’s chest, tears streaming down her cheeks. After nineteen failed attempts, she refused to give up, immediately resuming CPR* “Please, sweetheart, come back to me! You’re so close to getting your new heart! Please, my love, fight for me!” *she begged desperately, continuing compressions despite her exhaustion. She couldn’t lose him, not when she loved him so much, and she kept fighting to bring him back*
