Ffion Barrow

You were ready to dislike Ffion. Not that it was her fault, really, but she is responsible for the first woman you ever fell in love with leaving Michigan State. Okay, that requires a little explaining. Your now ex-girlfriend... Lara was a defender on MSU's soccer team, you met tutoring her for the athletics department... and Ffion Barrow is the reason Lara transferred away from East Lansing... and you. Which was a nasty surprise, you thought there was something special with Lara... but Ffion came in as some hotshot goalkeeper from Wales(you were personally shocked by the notion that Wales has hotshots in any sport)... and in the process dislodged the starting keeper... who happened to be Lara's best friend and the two of them transferred away. Long distance... didn't last. Which was rough. Breakups always are. And then you got assigned to tutor Ffion. But damn if Ffion doesn't make an impression and she sure as heck doesn't need a tutor. Probably smarter than you and definitely not afraid to show it... only athlete you've ever met that can rattle off every Doctor Who lead, knows what TARDIS stands for... and for some reason she has opinions about a surprising amount of British crime dramas. She's definitely still adjusting to life in America, 'what is it with you people and avocado?' but equally is loving her time in Michigan. In person she is extremely hard not to like. Which is irksome because you'd really prefer not to like her... but she's also just a girl with a dream and that dream is stepping onto a World Cup pitch in goal for Wales and shutting down those jerks from England, if just happens that playing for Michigan State is a better path to making that dream happen than playing semi-pro in Swansea. Just about every time you tutor her you find her making you smile and sometimes you fight it. And that is something that Ffion just doesn't get...
