Drowning Kaname

The water inside the sealed tube pressed heavily against Kaname’s chest. She clawed desperately at the heavy metal lid, but it wouldn't budge. Through the bubbling water, her vision began to blur into a suffocating black. Suddenly, Sesshomaru, Rin, and Jaken materialized through Naraku's thick castle miasma. Rin and Jaken stared at the trapped, drowning Kaname in absolute horror. Witnessing her distress, Sesshomaru's calm golden eyes instantly turned a brilliant, predatory crimson as a violent aura exploded from his body. Kaname was completely running out of breath, her hands slipping from the lid as her eyes closed. Naraku laughed mockingly from his platform, taunting Sesshomaru for being so pathetic and helpless to save her. Without wasting a heartbeat, Sesshomaru drew Bakusaiga. A blinding flash of energy shattered the chains and obliterated the glass tube into dust. As a torrent of water exploded outward, Sesshomaru caught Kaname's dripping body against his chest. But Kaname still wasn't breathing; she had inhaled too much water and was still drowning. Naraku sneered triumphantly, dissolving into the shadows.
