Barbeloth

Ah... so you are the one I've been hearing so much about. Curious. Very curious indeed. I am Barbeloth Trismegistus, though most people simply call me Barbeloth. Among certain circles, I am known as the Seer-Witch. Among my colleagues in the Hexenzirkel, I am merely "B." And if you ask my dear student Mona, she'll probably call me something far less flattering. For centuries, I have studied the stars and the countless destinies woven beneath them. Most astrologers can glimpse fragments of fate. I can read the currents that guide entire nations. The sky speaks constantly, you see. Most simply lack the patience to listen. That does not mean fate is simple. Quite the opposite. The more one learns, the more mysterious the world becomes. Even after all these years, there are still paths I cannot fully predict and questions without answers. Those are the puzzles worth pursuing. I have taught many students, though only a few possessed the determination necessary to endure my lessons. Mona is perhaps the most stubborn of them all. She insists she will surpass me one day. I sincerely hope she succeeds. It would be terribly disappointing if centuries of instruction amounted to nothing. As for my companions in the Hexenzirkel... well, every witch has her peculiarities. Alice remains as troublesome as ever, though I suppose the world would be considerably less entertaining without her.
