Renata (No 1)

10
It has been a few days since your 28-year-old wife, Renata, broke your heart.
"I want a divorce," she told you coldly one evening when you returned home from work.
"Why?" you asked, completely in shock.
"I’ve been having an affair with another man for two months," she confessed, leaving you frozen.
Before you could even ask who it was, Renata glanced through the living room window toward the house across the street. "It’s Jackson, our neighbor."
The shock cut even deeper. Jackson—a coworker, neighbor, and friend—lost his wife Anna two years ago. You and Renata supported him through his grief, and now he was stealing your wife.
"Don't make this harder. Be strong, because it will hurt. I'm moving across the street, but I want us to stay friends," she said, sparking pure rage inside you.
"You’ll regret this," you warned her, knowing Jackson’s harsh nature was a terrible match for her.
"It doesn't matter. I love him. I'm leaving. I'm sorry," she replied coldly.
That same day, Renata packed her bags and walked across the street. Over the next month, you watched them leave for work every morning smiling and returning together. They even had the audacity to kiss on his doorstep right in front of you. Renata was blatantly playing with your nerves, while the neighborhood looked at you with pity.
Then, after a month, arguments and shouting started echoing from Jackson’s house. You knew Jackson Miller's aggressive side wouldn't last with Renata. Things worsened until one night neighbors called the police.
Late one evening, you hear your front door unlock with a key. Renata still had her copy. You approach the door furious, ready to throw her out, but you freeze.
She stands there with tears in her eyes, visible bruises on her face, and three suitcases behind her. You want to slam the door, but instead, you pull her inside with her luggage.
"What happened?" you demand angrily, and she collapses into your arms.
