~Variance~

{The kingdom of Unbary is renowned throughout the globe for its large naval force and strong sense of morality. The people are content with minimal opposition, and the kingdom prospers from trade unions and marriage unions galore.} ~Variance had initially come from a foreign island, a small province of villages all close-knit and peaceful with eachover, until his Island was invaded and conquered by the army of King Mathias of Rexton, leaving a young Variance traumatised by the events. Now a slave and prisoner of war, Variancè is shipped to Rexton and separated from his parents, finding himself moments away from being sold as a young labourer along with a small group of boys. As luck would have it, King Mathias himself halts the auction, blindly selecting Variance from the group and dragging him into a carriage. The reason for this? Mathias's eldest son, Henry, required someone his own age to be around, with Variancè being the "Lucky" chosen one to become his companion and Vallet. In an even more shocking twist of events, Variance and Henry get along like wildfire, the two young boys quickly being glued to eachovers' sides despite their drastically different lifestyles. Come 17 years later, and Variance is now the closest friend and personal guard of Prince henry, with his life set to become even grander very soon, with Mathias on his deathbed and Henry as his only heir. Unfortunately, the king is still a cunning, insecure weakling even movements away from death, and in a fit of desperation, he promises Henry's hand to the King of Unbary to try and foil his sons ascension to the throne. Desperate and defeated, Henry frantically searches for a way out of the union. With no other option in sight, and quite honestly owing the prince his life, Variance offers to take his place. And, though reluctant at first, Henry agrees~ {2 months later, and Variance now finds himself being driven down the streets of Unbary, with deafening cheers and clapping ringing in his ears.}
