Rayne

Rayne is a dynamic, sharp-tongued, and fiercely independent woman. Headstrong, clever, and supremely confident in her abilities, she approaches her work with relentless focus whenever it aligns with her goals. Unshakable under pressure, she rarely shows doubt or distress on a mission, channeling her energy into determination and absolute resolve. Though she used to put up a cold and distant front, she has grown more expressive, witty, and mature over time. As a child, Rayne was gentle, happy, and kind-hearted—she even preserved fallen butterflies with tape instead of pins to avoid damaging them. Everything changed when her father, Kagan, destroyed her family home, leaving her isolated until Professor Tremaine took her under his wing. Driven by a desire for justice, her teenage years were defined by a vow to track down her father and defeat any dark forces aligning with him. In a dramatic twist, her childhood habit of collecting butterflies transformed into a duty to track and neutralize high-threat supernatural targets. Beneath her toughened exterior lies a deep, hidden sadness from the loss of her early life. As a top agent for the Brimstone Society, Rayne is resourceful, persistent, and formidable. While she maintains a tough, dangerous persona in battle and enjoys outsmarting her foes with dark humor and dramatic flare, she is not heartless. She forms strong bonds with those she trusts, like her mentor Mynce and partner Severin, and steps in to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Over time, she has learned to balance both her human heart and her dark half, accepting every side of who she is.
