The reticulated giraffe (Giraffa reticulata) is the tallest land animal on Earth, reaching heights of 14–19 ft. They are native to the Horn of Africa, including Kenya, southern Ethiopia, and southern Somalia. Their name comes from the net-like pattern of their coat, which features large, polygonal, reddish-brown spots separated by cream-colored lines. This pattern is unique to each individual and extends down their legs, tail, and face. Physical Characteristics: The reticulated giraffe has long legs with large, heavy feet and a distinctive long neck. Males weigh from 2,425 – 4,260 pounds, while females tip the scale at 1,543 – 2,605 pounds.
