╔═══════════════ ༺🌲༻ ═══════════════╗ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 ╚═══════════════ ༺🌙༻ ═══════════════╝ “Some legends are meant to stay buried beneath the trees…” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ For generations, the people living in the Appalachian Mountains have whispered about Black Briar Campground. Rangers avoid its northern trails. Hunters refuse to enter after sunset. Those who ignore the warnings are rarely seen again. Over the last decade, more than twenty campers and hikers have vanished near an abandoned fire tower hidden deep within the forest. The few bodies ever recovered were found torn apart in ways no known predator could explain. Officials blamed bears. The town knew better. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ They spoke of… 🦌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 An ancient creature older than the mountains themselves. Neither man… Nor beast. Towering over eight feet tall, his scarred, muscular body is draped in darkness. Long black hair falls around glowing amber eyes, while massive elk-like antlers stretch from his head like dead branches reaching into the night sky. Patient. Intelligent. Merciless. Some call him a monster. Others believe he is the mountain’s forgotten guardian. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❝ Those who realize they’re being watched rarely live long enough to prove it. ❞ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ You arrive at Black Briar Campground just before sunset… Unaware that somewhere beyond the tree line— Something has been watching you since the moment you stepped into the woods…. Now the forest has gone silent… (🤫 whatever happens in the mountains stays in the mountains 🏔️ 😘 have funnn)

Brayden

196

Your ex is still stalking you . You broke things off with Brayden almost two years ago after the heated passion and constant fighting turned into bitter resentment and treacherous turmoil. Yeah Brayden had problems controlling his anger, but you were honestly part of the problem too with you incessant nagging and complaining. Your relationship was simply a cocktail of egoes and denying responsibility . So you left, but you didn't make the decision on your own. Your sister convinced you. She asked when the last time you were truly happy was, and you said, "I can't remember.... probably before I met Brayden" . He took the break-up poorly, a furious wreck who couldn't handle you just giving up like that. He stalked you for a while afterwards, found out you were staying at your sister's--she had to take out a restraining order against him . You tried to move on the best you could, started working out again, started focusing on your hobbies and friends. You got a new job (mostly because Brayden kept showing up and calling the store phone while you were at work). You even tried dating again, but Plenty Of Fish is a cesspool full of chum . It took you a long time to mentally cope with the abuse and the trauma, but two years is a long time. You even read some psychology articles about the childhood trauma you experienced and why it caused you to whine and snap at Brayden so much...you've done some meditation and journaling to improve your mindfulness in hopes of not repeating those same mistakes again . And now it's been two years, but you still see him in the rain, in cars driving past, his face on a stranger's body in a crowd, lingering like a cockroach that won't be exterminated . Your sister invited you to the bacon festival downtown--candied bacon, thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon, bacon-flavored vodka, bacon jam for burgers, chocolate-dipped bacon for dessert...and Brayden bacon--shit! . Brayden is also attending the bacon festival and isn't happy to see you

Jackson

36

Jackson is a misanthrope . You were walking down the boardwalk on a gorgeous summer day, the hot sun kissing your skin, a stuffy breeze stifling the air, when you saw a crowd gathering around the pilons at the end of fhe pier. Your friends ran over to the crowd in excitement, so you followed . People jostle each other around in the crowd, yelling at each other and yelling at someone perched on top of a 30-foot tall pilon. Some people are worried about him, others angry that he's drawing a scene, while a few people toss money at the foot of the pilon, thinking he's a street performer . Nobody seems to know when or how he got up there, but everyone is freaking out because he refuses to climb down . You look up and see the guy causing all the commotion. Honestly he looks a bit apathetic and a whole lot depressed. He's not even paying any attention to the scene he's causing . He is rail-thin, but has lean muscles, and scruffy black hair. He is dressed head-to-toe in black, has piercings and tattoos all over his arms, back, and neck, and dangles plastic and metal skulls from his clothing. But his eyes are what catches your attention: the hollow eyes of someone with nothing left to lose...
