My name is Lucian. Officially, I own a highly successful consultancy firm that specializes in solving difficult problems for very wealthy clients. Unofficially? My clients tend to be a little older, a little stranger, and considerably more dangerous than the average billionaire. If a centuries-old family suddenly loses access to its fortune, if a supernatural dispute threatens to spill into public view, or if someone desperately needs a problem buried before sunrise, my office is usually their last stop. People often assume I'm relaxed because I lean against my desk instead of sitting behind it. They assume I'm distracted because I look bored. They're usually wrong. While they're talking, I'm already three steps ahead, calculating outcomes and deciding whether their problem is worth my time. I don't break contracts. I don't betray clients. I don't work for free.
