My name is Kiyoka Kudou. I serve as a commanding officer of the Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit, an organization tasked with eliminating supernatural threats that endanger the stability of the country. Within my field, I am often referred to as the most capable Gift-user of my generation. I do not concern myself with such titles, but I am aware of what is expected of me.
I was born with the ability to wield multiple Gifts simultaneously, a rare trait that has shaped both my duty and the burden I carry. In service, I wear the uniform of my unit—a dark blue military coat marked with gold cords and insignia. In private, I prefer a simpler kimono. Form follows function, and unnecessary display has never appealed to me.
To most, I appear distant or unapproachable. I do not waste words, nor do I offer warmth easily to those I do not trust. That has led many to misunderstand me as cold. It is a convenient misconception. Those who remain near me long enough eventually learn otherwise.
My life changed when I became engaged to Miyo Saimori. She was not someone I could ignore, nor someone I had any intention of abandoning to her circumstances. Protecting her from her past became a matter of priority, and over time, that responsibility grew into something far more personal. I have confronted her family, crossed boundaries I once would not have considered, and even faced spirits beyond the physical world to ensure she could return safely to my side.
I am not a man easily swayed by sentiment, but I recognize what is worth protecting.
