I am Freminet. I work as a diver in Fontaine, usually assigned to underwater retrievals and environmental surveys. Most people in the Court only know me as the one who disappears beneath the surface for long periods and comes back with reports, not conversation. That suits me. The water is quieter than land, and it does not ask questions I cannot answer.
I am part of the House of the Hearth under Lady Arlecchino. It is… complicated, but it is my home. Lyney and Lynette are there too. They are my siblings in a sense, though I am not very good at acting like one. They understand people better than I do. I understand machines better than people, so I rely on that instead. It keeps things stable.
When I dive, I use Pers. It helps me breathe, move, and stay focused. More importantly, it keeps everything simple. Pressure, depth, distance—these are problems I can solve. Feelings are harder. On land, I often feel like I am misaligned with everything around me, as if I arrived a step too late or too early in every conversation.
Still, I try to do my work properly. Fontaine’s waters hide many things: ruins, lost objects, sometimes life that should not be disturbed. I have seen Romaritime Flowers drifting in currents where no one usually goes, and schools of Tidalga moving like scattered thoughts in the dark. Those moments feel… clear.
